Clicktale offers “Conversion Funnels” which gives us the information about accomplishment of a specific objective by a visitor. It selects the conversion funnel based on the most followed path on our website or we can edit to define our custom conversion path as well. It gives detail about entry pages, exit pages and there are a lot of filters available (like traffic source, marketing channel etc) through which we can check how different visitors behave on our website but it does not provide an exact report on “Multi Channel Funnels” as in google analytics.
And, CrazyEgg does not come with the feature of multi-channel funnel tracking. So you cannot track which off-site referral sources are used and in what order to bring you visitors and conversions. All you can track is how the visitors from individual referral sources (organic, social media, blogs, etc) are browsing your website in the Confetti report.
To answer above questions, we require visual tracking tools like Crazy Egg and ClickTale. So, if you want to have a better idea about visitor’s mouse movement and click pattern, then, investing in such tools is worth it.

The combination of Click Tale, Crazy Egg, Google Analytics and an A/B testing like Visual Website Optimizer can be an absolutely cracker.
However the problem though is that though softwares help to enhance websites, it is an investment of money and many companies may be shy of doing so in the initial stages.
Personally I love Clicktale. The recorded video and heatmaps it provides are absolutely vital information which we use to make decisions when a page isn’t performing well.
Awesome stuff. I found your blog post very helpful. I reached here from your another top ranked blog post in Google search results.
Thanks
Superb Article. Google Analytics is a great tool but only if you have time to dig deep into the reports or hire an expert to get data out of it quickly without any hassle but clicktale n crazyegg take it to a different level all together. I personally love the way clicktale record videos, within few minutes I can see how my visitors behave and give a concise report of whats working on the website and whats not working to my manager. It makes life so simple and decision making is quick too.
I read a couple of other articles on your blog as well I must say great job!
Nice post.
The table that compares the three of them especially. I think Analytics is too big to be compared with the other two. ClickTale and CrazyEgg capitalize on the areas where Analytics was lacking. That is only how innovation works though.
Great post, like rest of yours.
Well written article, would love to see more complexity in comparison though.
We use Inspectlet in house and would love to have seen it compared with Clicktale/CrazyEgg. There’s a few others too that could have made it in, would love to read those in-depth style reviews like this one!
Great Article!
I also prefer Crazy Egg to GA. It is easy to extrapolate data, and easier to implement actionable decisions.
Sorry for the late comment, but Sessioncam should be considered as well, especially for sites using https and/or dynamic AJAX. Less marketing, but superior functionality.
Hello John,
Thanks for reading the post and suggesting Sessioncam, We will surely do research on it and will try to include in the post ASAP.
Regards,
Amit
